Jacks BackSometimes called Jacks and Reverse, or Jackson, this game proceeds exactly like ordinary Jacks. If no one opens for high on the first round, the game reverts to Lowball Draw. If no one opens for low, a new deal must be made, usually after sweetening the ante. The playing requirements for high are the same as in Jacks; for low, the same as in Lowball Draw. The only exceptions are small straights and flushes. Obviously, a wheel is a much better low hand than high hand, and should therefore be checked during the first round. It's worth a raise for high, though, if someone else opens with jacks or better.
In any event, act promptly when you hold a small straight or flush in this game; if you have to stop to figure out whether an eighty-seven flush works better for high or low, the opposition will quickly peg you for a pat hand. Jacks Back is one of the better "Dealer's Choice" games, and is lust the ticket to liven up a slow session of Jacks. |

Pai Gow Poker is a dealt with a standard 52 card deck and one Joker. Each player is dealt seven (7) cards. The object of the game is to make two (2) poker hands. One of the two hands is made up of five cards (called the High Hand), the other is the two card hand, (called the Low Hand). The five card hand must be better then the two card hand for instance, let’s assume that in the seven cards there are two (2) pairs a pair of 10’s and a pair of 9’s. You can play both pairs in the high hand if you wish or you can split the pairs. You cannot however put the pair of 10’s in the low hand because your high hand must be better than the low hand. High Chicago is just like regular seven-card stud, except the person with the best hand must share the pot with the person with the highest spade in the hole (so if you have the Ace of spades showing, it does you no good). Like Hi-low, High Chicago is a declare game in which players declare whether they are going for the high hand, high spade in the hole, or both. If you are using chips, one chip is for high hand, no chip is for high spade, and two chips is for both. Seven Cards Tips And Strategy
Traditionalists believe that to open the poker betting in five-card draw a player should have at least a four-card flush, four-card straight, or a high pair. However, if betting is light and you are holding a small pair, a medium pair, or even two high cards, you might want to stay in for the next round. (A high pair is generally a pair of Jacks or higher; a pair of 7s, 8s, 9s or l0s would be considered a medium pair; and a pair of 6s or less is a small pair). Tips And Strategy Stud Poker
Either of these scales gives everyone plenty of excuse to stay, so that practically the only time a poker player drops out is when he has two very low cards in different suits. Now, since people are playing liberally, anybody with an ace or king in the hole or a pair back to back is going to raise on the first card. As a result, by the time the later cards are dealt there is so much money in the pot that no one who sees any possible chance of winning is going to drop out, while the players who have a good chance are going to raise back and forth. Perhaps the greatest counter of them all was the Omaha Kid. That is only his nickname, but its close enough so that every boss in the world who has ever met The Kid across a 21 table will know exactly who I am talking about. He probably has fleeced more casinos for more money than any other counter in the world. The Omaha Kid and Texas Holdem drifted to Nevada from the Midwest in the early 1950s. There were only a few clubs in the state then, but through the years The Kid consistently use strategy to beat practically every one of them. He also would periodically make trips across the country to hit the places where 21 were still played. Then Nevada gambling started building up and he had his pick of the state.
